Calcined Bauxite-Chinese

It is comparatively cheaper source of Al2O3 in bricks & castable. It is manufactured by sintering high-alumina bauxite in rotary kiln at a temperature of + 1550 0C to get its high alumina content and refractoriness, low iron, and grain hardness and toughness. Bauxite is used in chemical industry, refractory brick & monolith, abrasive, cement, steel, and petroleum industry.

Typically, refractory bauxites have high refractoriness (~1840°C), but their refractoriness is reduced under load (1450-1550°C) due to impurities such as TiO2 and Fe2O3, responsible for forming a liquid phase at these temperatures.

It is available in various size fractions like 0-1, 1-3, 3-5, 5-8, 8-15 mm & -200 mesh.  Grains are angular in nature.
