Ferro Chrome (FeCr) is used for production of high-quality stainless steel. Chromium plays pivotal role for appearance and corrosion resistance properties of stainless steel. We offer High Carbon (HC FeCr) and Low Carbon (LC FeCr) grades as per requirements of our esteemed customers.
Physical Properties:
- Appearance: Metallic, typically in shiny, silver-grey colour with a crystalline structure.
- Density: Varies depending on the grade, generally between 6.8 – 7.1 g/cm³.
- Melting Point: 1,400°C – 1,620°C (2,550°F – 2,950°F) depending on the chromium and carbon content.
- Hardness: Ferro chrome is relatively hard and brittle, with a hardness of about 5-7 on the Mohs scale.
- Magnetism: Ferro chrome is mildly magnetic due to its iron content.
- Electrical Conductivity: Poor electrical conductor due to its high resistivity.
- Solubility: Insoluble in water but may react with acids.
